Published Friday March 10

Gov. Jerry Brown has set an April 6 deadline for lawmakers to hammer out a transportation funding…

A $6 billion state transportation funding plan cleared its final committee in Sacramento this week and is now on course for a vote in the Senate.

Senate Bill 1 would raise excise taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel, increase car> registration fees by $38 and impose a $100 annual fee on electric vehicles to help pay for their contribution to wear-and-tear on Calif. roads. A similar measure has been introduced in the Assembly.
